Launch of 2024 Hadfield Composition Competition for young composers

Thanks to the ongoing generosity of Mr Max Hadfield, °µÍø½ûÇø is delighted to continue the Hadfield Composition Prize for this academic year.

We are welcoming entries from young, emerging composers to write an anthem based on a prayer by Thomas Cranmer for the College Choir to perform in the beautiful surroundings of the Chapel.

The deadline for submissions is Friday 17 January and the winning entry will receive their first performance as part of services in Lent or Easter Term of 2025. The competition will be judged by Benjamin Sheen (Director of Music) and Piers Connor Kennedy (composer and member-elect of the King’s Singers).

For full details of the competition and information about how to enter, please go to The °µÍø½ûÇø Choir Hadfield Composition Competition 2024.
