Chapel services, events, and hire
We are pleased to welcome you to °µÍø½ûÇø Chapel.
Chapel services are open to College members, staff, their guests, and visitors.
Sunday services
10am – Choral Eucharist
A friendly service of the Eucharist, with readings, music, prayers, a short sermon, and the sharing of Communion. Eucharist is sung by a vocal consort of College Choral Scholars.
6pm – Choral Evensong with address from a guest speaker
A traditional service of readings, prayers, and music sung by the College Choir, and followed by drinks. Details of the Sunday Evening Addresses can be found on the Termcards page. The service is usually broadcast on the .
Saturday services
Choral Evensong on Saturday is at 6.00pm, and all are welcome to join for a short service of readings, prayers, and music sung by the Chapel Choir.
Weekday services
Morning prayer is said at 8.30am, Monday to Friday throughout term.
Choral Evensong is conducted at 6.30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout term. Join us in a short service of music and prayer for a moment of peace and reflection after the working day.
Weddings
Weddings in the College Chapel require a special licence from the Archbishop of Canterbury. It's normally only possible for current staff, students, Fellows and alumni of the College to get married in the Chapel.
If you're interested in getting married in the Chapel, you'll need to discuss your plans with the Dean of Chapel to help determine whether you should apply for a special licence. Please note that permission to be married in Chapel is granted separately from permission to use other facilities such as catering or room hire.
Baptisms and confirmations
Baptisms (also known as 'christenings') and confirmations are usually only possible for current students, staff members, and Fellows of the College community or their immediate families.
Hire
You can book the Chapel for other functions, depending on the availability of the building and suitability of the purpose. Booking charges may apply. Please contact the Chapel Office to make an enquiry.
