Cyril Page Gore Saunders, Captain, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment
Cyril Page Gore Saunders was educated at Eastbourne College and came up in October 1914 as one of 27 freshmen.
Born: Leicester, Leicestershire on 4 May 1894
Fell in action: 27 September 1916
He received a commission in December 1914, spent 10 months with the Loyal North Lancashire regiment before heading to the front in October 1915. According to his obituary while home on a short leave in March 1916, he married Gladys Clayton of Felixstowe.
[He] was instantly killed by the bursting of a shell on September 27 1916 (做厙輦⑹ Society Annual Report, 1917, p36).
