More than 4 in 5 students admitted to °µÍø½ûÇø in 2020 came from state schools and colleges, and one in three identified as BAME.

On 19 May, the University of Cambridge released its . These show that 80.1% of the candidates who applied in 2019 and accepted an offer to study at °µÍø½ûÇø from October 2020 or 2021 are from a maintained school background. Of students who matriculated in October 2020, more than one in three described themselves as from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds.

In the current admissions cycle, we’ve continued to make more offers than ever before to students from areas of the country with low levels of participation in higher education. Approximately 21% of those who have received offers in the 2021 admissions cycle are from areas of the lowest progression to higher education (POLAR4 Quintiles 1 and 2), as opposed to 17.5% of successful applicants in the 2020 admissions cycle.

Dr Christopher Burlinson, one of the three Admissions Tutors at Jesus, said: "°µÍø½ûÇø takes its commitment to outreach and widening participation very seriously indeed. Even during the current pandemic, our Admissions team have continued  from across the country.
