Boat Club commemorates Chris McDouall

The °µÍø½ûÇø Boat Club (JCBC) held a boat naming ceremony at the weekend, toasting the new Chris McDouall (1956) men's 8+ boat named after the former Treasurer of the °µÍø½ûÇø Boat Club Trust, who sadly passed away last November.

A former RAF pilot and an engineer, Chris worked on pioneering industrial developments and spent time in bouncing-bomb inventor Barnes Wallis’s design department at British Aircraft. As featured in the Spring 2017 edition of Jesuan News, in 2016 he took part in unveiling a major advance in internal-combustion engine technology at an automotive show in Aachen.

Chris was a former JCBC member who, throughout his life, put a huge amount of time and effort into supporting the club. Members of the Club and Trust were joined by Chris' widow, Veronica, for the naming to give a toast to Chris' memory and acknowledge the huge contribution he made to the club over the years.

The new boat was kindly funded by the JCBC Trust, and the Club would like to thank them for their generosity.
