Education strategy and migrant children
Madeleine Arnot, Professor in Sociology of Education features in a recent in which she calls for a more joined-up education strategy for migrant children.
In the feature, Professor Arnot talks about the lack of data on exactly how many migrant children are in the UK education system. She states that defining all migrant children as having English as Additional Language Needs means nuances of support that each child and their family could benefit from can be missed. The article goes on to cover the Education Triangle evaluation scheme which Professor Arnot helped to develop, the importance of communication within schools and with parents, and more.
