Founder of the world’s biggest educational prize visits °µÍø½ûÇø
Charles Chen Yidan, founder of the Yidan Prize and a core founder of the successful Chinese internet company Tencent, visited °µÍø½ûÇø on Monday 12th December.
Mr Chen’s recently launched Yidan Prize is the world’s largest international education award, with HK$60 million (over £6 million) to be given to two educational projects in 2017. At °µÍø½ûÇø Mr Chen met with some of the College’s academics including the Master, Professor Nolan, Professor Williamson and Professor Vignoles, to discuss the state of education globally.
During his time in Cambridge Mr Chen also met with the Vice Chancellor and visited the University’s Faculty of Education to engage with the research being carried out there.
