Four Jesuans to step out at Twickenham for rugby Varsity clash
The men's rugby Varsity Match on Saturday (April 2) is not to be missed with FOUR Jesuans in the University of Cambridge squad.
Congratulations to Tim Andrew, Max Loveridge, James Wright and David Holdroyd who have all been selected for the team which will take on 'The Other Place' at Twickenham this weekend.
This year commemorates the 150th anniversary of the first rugby match between Oxford and Cambridge. Both sides will be looking to claim a win over their rivals in this momentous year. It is also the first time the game has been played on a Saturday for 75 years.
Max Loveridge, who is in his second year studying for a MEng in Chemical Engineering, said: "This will be my second Varsity Match but my first opportunity to run out at Twickenham, and has been my first full season at CURUFC.
"It has been challenging at times to balance the commitment with social and academic activities, but we have a very strong group of boys at the club which really helps. There is a great sense of excitement as the big day approaches, and I feel the talent we have gives us a great opportunity to do something special on the 2nd."
For Natural Sciences student Tim Andrew, this will be his first Varsity rugby clash. He said: "It's taken a lot of hard work this year to get to this point, has been an enjoyable journey ever since September. Being so close to the event is both nerve-wracking and exciting in equal measure."
We wish Tim, Max, James, David and their teammates every success, and will be cheering them on this weekend.
