How does sleep health affect society?

Internationally renowned sleep scientist Dr Michael Grandner gave a fascinating lecture for the Intellectual Forum and  Sleep Week , which is now available to watch online.

Dr Grandner gave an overview of how sleep is related to mental and physical health and performance, and how social and environmental factors influence real-world sleep. He also talked about ways of improving sleep health and the role of emerging consumer technology in opening the door to better sleep health.

He challenged current societal thinking on sleep: “The idea that sleep is not important, that sleep is unproductive - not only is that incorrect, but these are harmful ideas as well.â€
