JCSU celebrates Women’s History Month with Week of the Woman

°µÍø½ûÇø Student Union's Week of the Woman, which began on 1 March, will culminate with a guest speaker event on International Women’s Day.

Mojola Akinyemi, JCSU Women's and Non-Binary Officer, says: “Week of the Woman at °µÍø½ûÇø began a couple of years ago, started by the then Women’s and Non-Binary Officer, Emma Loffhagen. It runs during the first week of March (Women’s History Month) and finishes with a grand finale on International Women’s Day, Monday 8 March at 6pm.

Week of the Woman is about celebrating feminist activism, and the accomplishments of women carving out their paths in various fields. It’s also about intersectionality, and recognising that true progress requires inclusivity. It involves lots of events, such as an open mic night, a charity quiz in collaboration with a number of Cambridge Feminist Societies, and a very exciting Q&A with award-winning journalist Jessica Morgan!â€
