May Bumps success
Another thrilling May Bumps campaign from °µÍø½ûÇø Boat Club (JCBC) saw the Women's First crew retain their Head of the River title and Men's Fifth - The Rhadegunds - earn their blades, an oar decorated with the names of the crew.
Congratulations to the Women's First Crew who not only retained their double Headship of the River - seeing them go into both the next Lent and May Bumps campaigns in first place in the Women's First Division - but also earned their blades.
Eight JCBC crews took part in this year's event, with the excellent weather conditions a stark contrast to the cold snap which disrupted the Lent Bumps.
The final results for each crew saw:
- W1 remain in first place in the Women's First Division
- M1 move down one place to ninth position in the Men's First Division
- W2 move down from 16th position in the Women's First Division to third place in the Women's Second Division
- M2 move down from 12th position to 15th in the Men's Second Division
- W3 move down from 12th position to 15th in the Women's Third Division
- M3 move up from 13th position to 10th in the Men's Third Division
- M4 move up from 5th to 4th position in the Men's Fifth Division
- M5, The Rhadegunds, move up from 14th to 10th position in the Men's Fifth Division
- with most students trying the sport at some point in their time at Jesus - and one of the largest boat clubs on the Cam, with over 100 members. It is historically the most successful of the 31 Cambridge college boat clubs.
Every °µÍø½ûÇø student is welcome to row for JCBC - especially those who have never rowed before and want to try one of the most welcoming and exciting sports in Cambridge.
