Open Days a success
Hundreds of potential applicants have toured °µÍø½ûÇø as part of the University of Cambridge's annual Open Days held on 5 and 6 July.
Student ambassadors tirelessly ran tours showing visitors around College, showing accomodation, the Hall and Roost Cafe, Quincentenary Library, sport grounds and our new West Court development; answering questions about College life and their experience of Cambridge as they went. Admissions Tutors and staff were also on hand to answer questions about how courses are run, making an applications and the interview process.
Copies of the °µÍø½ûÇø Student Union (JCSU) Alternative Prospectus proved so popular that stocks ran out towards the end of the second day, an electronic copy can also find it .
Dr Christopher Burlinson, College Fellow and Admissions Tutor, said: "It's been brilliant to see over a thousand people coming into College. Both our student ambassadors and Admissions team have been amazing in giving everyone a friendly welcome and a taste of College life from their perspective and experience. For any Year 13 students who would like to make a final visit before making their Cambridge application, we'll be running an Undergraduate Open Afternoon on 22 September, there is also plenty of information about the courses we offer at Jesus on our main subject pages."
Rosie, one of our student ambassadors, said: "It's been a fun, fast-paced two days and although it's been tiring it's been really rewarding. I've enjoyed the chance to meet people who are in the place that I was three years ago, especially those who are considering applying for my subject as it's great to be able to share my experience. Open Days are such a nice chance to show off the College, it makes you very proud to study and live here."
