Speaking on social mobility
Educational attainment divides appear very early on - leaving pupils from poor backgrounds without the qualifications to access to leading universities - remarked Professor Anna Vignoles at a on 12th July.
Professor Vignoles is that: "Schools must concentrate on teaching pupils skills for weathering a new technological era of jobs" during the panel discussion exploring social mobility over time.
Professor of Education and Director of Research at the Faculty of Education, Professor Vignoles has advised numerous government departments, including the Department for Education. She has extensive experience of using large scale administrative data to study factors relating to pupil achievement and students’ outcomes from education, and has published widely on widening participation into higher education and on the socio-economic gap in pupil achievement.
